Yandina and District Community Association (YADCA)

YADCA’s April meeting will be held at 7:30PM, Monday 9th April at the Yandina-Eumundi RSL Hall.

Martin (Marty) Hunt MP, the member for Nicklin, will be a special extra guest speaker. I have briefed him about our most intractable Nicklin issue – a safe pedestrian route between Yandina and Nambour – and primed him to be prepared to be quizzed on a range of issues.

It is anticipated that Cr Rogerson will have news about the relocation of the railway gatekeeper’s cottage to Tea Tree Park, streetscaping of Farrell Street, a concept plan for a turning lane for motorists turning right into School Road from Ninderry Road and his allocation of discretionary funding to accelerate the provision of a bus shelter on Railway Street for buses going to Nambour.

OSCAR, the umbrella organisation of SC resident’s groups with which we are affiliated is looking for feedback on what we expect of it in 2018. I think they are diligently prosecuting the charter objectives – that are generally about holding SCRC and Noosa Council to account – and that should remain their focus, but please let me know if you think otherwise and I will pass on your views. You can check on the core aims and objectives, the record so far and current activities at OSCAR.org.au.
