The official opening ceremony starts on Saturday, 17th at 9am
and the festival finishes on Monday, 19th at 4pm.
The Fibre Arts Festival will run for three days and two nights and consists of four workshops that are 3 – 4 hours long with fibre artists from Australia and NZ where you will have the opportunity to learn the following:
- coil basket making
- natural plant dyeing
- paper making
- wool fibre art
- learn embroidery
- crochet, and
- many, many more.
Throughout the festival there will will be plenty of time available to enjoy the beautiful surroundings by swimming or relaxing by the pool, joining in our daily yoga sessions, going on a guided walk in the rain forest or just relaxing under a tree. We will also have a nightly bonfire, live entertainment, meet the makers night, a cultural performance, swap, sell and share at our trade blanket event and more.
All accommodation and meals are also provided. Our accommodation is shared and in dormitory style rooms and all meals are professionally catered, prepared fresh and sourced locally.
The festival site is just over 2 hours drive from the Gold Coast and 1 1/2 hours from Brisbane city.
