Ginger Factory is the perfect place for the entire family

Yandina is proud of its local businesses and what they create. There are many independent specialty shops that form Yandina’s historical streets.

Among them are the fresh and unusual specialists Jeffers’ Fruit and Veg Market and the gold winning gourmet, free range and gluten free Yandina Butchery.

There are over a dozen different places to grab food and coffee from, including Café Invigor8Goodness Gracious Organic and Gluten Free Café, the hot n’ piping Pete’s Village Bakery, and the always serving Café Gingers.

The Ginger Factory

Slightly out of the main street rests the Ginger Factory, a beautiful exploration into the story of ginger from paddock to plate.

Nestled among sub-tropical gardens and walks on Pioneer Road, the Ginger Factory boasts the largest range of ginger goods as well as fun educational activities and rides.

Get a real buzz with the Superbee Live Bee Show, board your very own Overboard lifeboat, ride the 115 year old Ginger Train, taste honey and ginger inspired treats, participate in one of the educational tours, or relax and wander the gardens. There’s lots of family fun to be had!

Nutworks and the Chocolate Factory

Situated opposite of the Ginger Factory lies Nutworks, home to the finest macadamia goods.

Visitors can view the factory processing, chocolate panning, and roasting from the comfort of the shop (Monday to Friday 9am-2pm). They also offer free taste tests on their roasted macadamias, and their cafe makes beautiful food using their own foodstuffs.

Wappa Falls Astronomical Observatory

Yandina also takes pride in its nature and what better way to observe its beauty than at the Wappa Falls Astronomical Observatory?

The Wappa Falls Observatory is settled in quiet bushland with sixteen telescopes at their disposal.

Whether you come during the day or night, there is so much to do! Witness the stars at night and observe their movement or catch a glimpse of the sun in their specially made telescopes, the Observatory allows everyone to marvel at the beauty of sky.

There are also entertaining talks, a meteor collection, and a space walk.

Nature Walks and Tracks

Taking a few steps out of town, Yandina hosts many breath-taking nature walks and tracks.

  • Bike through bush covered mountain trails,
  • Horse ride through some of the horse tracks available,
  • Float down the canoe trail on the Maroochy River, or
  • Go for an invigorating bush walk up the rocky path to the top of Mt Ninderry.

Yandina is also the start to the many 4WD tracks up into the Hinterland.
